What the crap?

Ah, my new blog, Thrill Priority.
The name of my blog pretty much describes me.
I live on adrenaline rushes.
You can say that I'm addicted.

So here goes my 1st entry...

I was just browsing products online, reading reviews and comparing different kinds of MP3 players that suit my needs before I buy.

So I went to Google, which then lends to CNet, mp3player.com, hardwarezone.com, different kinds of forums and many other places. It's the same everywhere. All kinds of different sizes of LCDs, all kinds of brightness levels, all kinds of contrast, all kinds of useless features which no one uses, from all the different brands out there. But nothing I need.

I only need:
1. A small screen enough to fit in the title of the song and the artist.
2. Radio.
3. Around 5GB?
4. Rugged chocolate bar design which I can chuck it into my pocket/bag.
5. LOOOONG battery life. 20 hours at the least.

I was thinking, if they take out all those other crappy features which does only one thing - leeching battery life, our modern MP3 players now would last a week non-stop, before needing a recharge.

I even used the CNet's find your MP3 player service where they give you a bunch of options to fill out and filter out the player you're looking for. I did that. Guess what showed up in the results page?
Antique MP3 Players from 5 years ago.
Just what I need, but the max capacity 5 years ago is only 256MB/512MB/1GB.Just great...

Something is definitely wrong with the engineers and designers.
All I'm asking for is music on-the-go. I don't want other distractions in my player that distract me from my music! I'm all about the listening ;)

All of them(Sony/Creative/Samsung/Iriver/Ipod/ETC) failed to satisfy me, the consumer/target market.

THEN! I thought that was all I had to worry about!

I found out in an audiophile forum, www.head-fi.org (They've got thousands of people viewing it simultaneously all over the world.) that all the MP3 players have different sound quality! I never knew that, I thought all of them sounded the same. Maybe because I never listened to different kinds of players. I found out that the apple products - ipods/iphone sounded mediocre unless you plug in a high-end headphone which cost $500 and more.(Claims from the forum) Well the other brands sounded better than apple products. (Claims from the forum)

One thing led to the other and I was searching for reviews about PSP slim's sound quality. I heard it was around ipod's league and I decided not to consider that as I wanted a simple music player, not a media player.

Then I was thinking what the heck. I don't wanna worry about the sound quality of the mp3 player as long as it suited my list of requirements above. I'll just invest on a decent headphone afterwards so every player would sound good, even on my PC.

Uh... wait a minute. WHAT IF you change your mp3 music instead a higher quality format? Won't that improve the sound quality as well so I could get some cheap gadgets.

Well, I'm still searching for that MP3 player which fit my requirements above. Nothing less, nothing more!

Anyway somehow I ended up looking on Razer products such as the protone m100 and everyone in head-fi.org said it is a rebrand of Sennheriser CX300 which is also a rebrand of some other rebrand's rebrand!

O.K now I have something to say about Razer products.
NEVER buy/support/think/dream/consider Razer products.
EVEN their "professional gaming mice" which has all the precision in the world.
And that they will give you the edge/advantage/and all the other BS.

First of all, precision is in your hand! All the other advantage and edge comes from your quick thinking and strategizing, your instant reaction plus your feel and control over your mice - your MIND!

That's my frag score 166 kills 23 deaths. That's a score impossible to a lot of pros.

It might look like I'm bragging but, in a good way. Well that's not the point I'm trying to make, I even used those $5 bally mouse to thrash those Razer users.

Guess what gears do I use?
I use Logitech G1 gaming keyboard + mouse. A very old decent product which I bought at $40 few years back. How many Razer worshippers do you know who repeatedly lose forever? You probably haven't cause they're too embarassed to tell you about it anyway.

And my dear friend Ming Sheng, bought an $80 Razer mouse to watch anime!
Razer is evil. They even got an elitist satanic cult on their website with members tattoo-ing themselves with the Razer serpent logo. Satan is targetting our youths in a modern way. Beware people, Run!
